A total of 222 golfers including foreigners, women and children are taking part in the tournament.
The 24 Infantry Division GOC Major General Saiful Abedin will inaugurate the tournament formally on Saturday morning while Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir will distribute prizes among the winners in the afternoon.
The BGCC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Md Toufiqul Islam said country’s leading industrial group ‘Bashundhara Group’ always extends supports for various sport events in the country.
They sponsored the golf tournament for the first time in Chattogram, he said.
Toufiqul Islam also hoped that the business group will keep its support continued for expansion of the golf in the country in the coming days.
